What can we help with?

Weight concern and body Image

The pursuit of weight loss has become almost a cultural norm in todays society. Unfortunately for many people rigid restrictive diets don't work in the long term. Brigid is passionate about empowering people to establish sustainable habits without feeling restricted and deprived. Brigid has trained inIntuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® (HAES®) which focuses on eating for wellbeing and long term health improvement. To learn more about Intuitive Eating and HAES® see the FAQ's page.

Family nutrition

Brigid works with parents of young children who have concerns about their childs eating habits. It is common for young children to be fussy eaters and reluctant to try new foods and this can cause stress taking the joy out of sharing a family meal. Brigid can help navigate this stage of life to help establish eating habits that foster a positive relationship with food.

Womens health, pregnancy and PCOS

At different life stages womens nutritional needs change and it can be useful to consult a dietitian if you are finding any of these transitions challenging. Brigid has a particular interest in womens health including helping them with hormonal imbalances such as PCOS, pregnancy, weight and body image concerns and family nutrition.

A new diagnosis of diabetes or a change in management can be a difficult adjustment for many. We can help you learn how to look after your health and maintain good blood sugar control while still finding joy in mealtimes.

Gut health

Poor Gut Health including Irritable Bowel Disease is very common today. Brigid Horan has recently trained in the latest scientific recommendations for individuals and combines them with her skills as an Intuitive Eating Counsellor to help you make appropriate choices for your body while still maintaining enjoyment in eating.

Undernutrition and malnutrition

At times illness or age related factors can impact our ability to eat enough to maintain our health and nutritional status . Prevention of further weight loss is the initial priority. If this is an issue for you or a loved one please contact Brigid for an appointment today.
